Renewed team at top for Leanne Fund

The Stornoway-based Leanne Fund is delighted to welcome new members to their Board as the Fund steps into a new era of expansion across Scotland for its work with those affected by Cystic Fibrosis.

At the AGM meeting in Stornoway last week, it was a time of change for the Fund as Ann Marie Rankin, who had chaired the board for the past 11 years, stepped down along with long-standing Board member and fund supporter, Zena Stewart.

Michelle Macleod, who has been a Board member for seven years, was elected as the new Chairperson and the Board also welcomed two new members, Jimina MacLeod and Murdo MacIver.

Chrisetta Mitchell, Development Manager of The Leanne Fund said: “We are delighted that Jimina and Murdo have joined us on the Board, and that Michelle has taken on the role of Chair.

"We are indebted to our former Chair Ann Marie for all her work over the last 11 years and are so very pleased that she will remain as a Trustee. We also wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to Zena for her time as a Trustee on The Leanne Fund board. She has given up so much time and energy to support The Leanne Fund over the years.”

Stepping down as Chair at the recent AGM, Ann Marie said: “I feel privileged to have held this role for eleven years. During this time, I have witnessed incredible growth far beyond what I imagined possible when I embarked in this role, thanks entirely to our Development Manager, Board of Trustees, and band of supporters.

"I look forward to seeing what our new Chair will bring to the charity and will continue to support the wonderful work of the Fund as a Trustee.”

Michelle Macleod said: “I am delighted to take on the role of Chair of The Leanne Fund board at such an exciting time for the Charity. I have been a Trustee since 2016 with my role focusing primarily on media and PR. With the continued growth and expansion of The Leanne Fund, I am excited to see what the future will bring.”
