We are delighted to announce that The Leanne Fund has been awarded £102,409 in National Lottery funding through the Fairer Life Chances programme.
This funding will be delivered over the next three years to support their vital work with children and families affected by Cystic Fibrosis.
The Leanne Fund – Bridging the Gap project will use the funding to enhance and expand its existing support services across Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Lanarkshire, and Ayrshire and Arran. Currently offering a holistic support service that includes counselling, wellbeing activities, and emergency family support, the charity will now also introduce complementary therapy services tailored to the needs of those living with Cystic Fibrosis.
The National Lottery Community Fund, Scotland Chair, Kate Still said: “Every day National Lottery funding is changing the lives of thousands of people in communities across Scotland. This project delivered by The Leanne Fund is a great example of community activity in action, showing just what can be achieved when people come together for a common cause or to help others.
“National Lottery players can be proud to know that the money they raise is helping to support this vital work which is making a real difference to so many.”
Over the course of the three-year project, The Leanne Fund will support an estimated 192 children and their families, helping to improve emotional wellbeing, reduce isolation, and ease financial pressures associated with the condition. The grant will fund a full-time project officer, staff training, volunteer expenses, travel, rent and utilities, as well as marketing activities to raise awareness of the support available.
“We are incredibly grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund for this generous funding. It will allow us to build on the success of our current services and extend our reach to even more families who are in desperate need of support. Our focus remains on improving quality of life and emotional wellbeing for those living with Cystic Fibrosis, and this project will be instrumental in achieving that,” said Chrisetta Mitchell, Development Manager at The Leanne Fund.
This significant investment from The National Lottery Community Fund will enable The Leanne Fund to continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of families across the region
