The Leanne Fund’s 16th annual 5K/10K event took place on Saturday, 7th June 2025, bringing together a wonderful crowd for a day of community, colour and compassion in support of those affected by Cystic Fibrosis.
This year’s event was made possible thanks to the generous and continued support of our main sponsors, community-owned wind farm, Point and Sandwick Trust. Their backing ensures the event can go ahead year after year, and their team was right at the heart of the day - with Jane Watson assisting with registration and trophy presentations. Photographer Sandie Maciver, once again captured the smiles, sweat and spirit of the day in her trademark vibrant style - memories we’ll treasure for years to come.

"Well done to all the runners and the fantastic team at the Leanne Fund who put on another brilliant community event this year. PST is more than happy to continue our support, contributing towards logistics costs of this important charity's annual fundraising run. SandiePhotos has taken some excellent shots for us, and our Board member Jane Watson was very pleased to present the winners with their trophies - well done again, to everyone involved!" said Donald John MacSween, General Manager, Point and Sandwick Trust.

150 runners and walkers took to the route from Sgoil an Rubha in the sunshine, cheered on by supporters, family and friends. The event raised an incredible £1,685 - every penny of which will go directly towards supporting children, young people and families across Scotland living with Cystic Fibrosis.
Living with Cystic Fibrosis is a lifelong challenge - and The Leanne Fund truly understands the journey. With first-hand experience at its heart, the Fund offers tailored emotional, practical and financial support from the moment of diagnosis and through life’s many ups and downs. We’re here for families when they need it most, offering care and compassion every step of the way.
Chrisetta Mitchell, The Leanne Fund's Co-Founder and Development Manager, said:
“We’re so grateful to everyone who took part, volunteered, donated or supported this year’s event in any way. Seeing both familiar and new faces come together meant a lot, and we truly value the continued support from our community.”
A sincere thank you to Point and Sandwick Trust for their valued sponsorship and longstanding commitment to our cause, their backing plays a key role in making the event possible. Reaching our 16th year is something we’re proud of, and it’s thanks to the kindness and commitment of those who help us bring it to life year after year.”
Plans are already underway for next year’s event, and we can’t wait to do it all again. Thank you for continuing to run, walk and stand with us.
