We can't believe June has come to an end - what a fantastic month it's been for The Leanne Fund!
We kicked things off by celebrating Volunteers' Week, recognising the incredible contribution volunteers make to our organisation. At The Leanne Fund, we're proud to celebrate our volunteers, whose dedication and generosity make our work possible every day
The rest of the month has been just as inspiring, with incredible support from individuals, groups, and organisations through fundraising, volunteering, and helping raise awareness of our work. We couldn't do what we do without you – thank you!
We hope you enjoy this month's newsletter and catching up on everything that's been happening. If you do, please share it with your friends, family, and colleagues using the link at the bottom of the page.
Thank you, as always, for being part of our wonderful community
The people behind the support
Darach is one of the many volunteers who volunteers with The Leanne Fund. Darach comes along each week as part of his Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) supporting us with all the behind-the-scenes jobs that help make community events possible.
As we reflect on the first half of the year and look ahead to a busy summer, we are reminded of the incredible impact our volunteers have already made in 2026. Whether you've joined us for a single event or have supported The Leanne Fund for many years, every contribution is valued and deeply appreciated.
On behalf of everyone at The Leanne Fund, thank you for your kindness, enthusiasm and unwavering commitment. We are incredibly grateful to have you as part of our community.
Together, we continue to make a real difference.

Wee Wander Big Heart
A huge THANK YOU to Esme for taking on Wee Wander as part of her Brownie Charity Badge challenge!

While earning her badge was a fantastic achievement, what makes this even more special is that Esme chose to do it for The Leanne Fund in support of her little cousin, Maeve.
After completing the walk alongside her amazing mum Emma (who also deserves a massive thank you! ), Esme was met at the finish line by a very excited Maeve, proudly holding a beautiful banner to cheer her on. The smiles say it all!!

Keeping it Local - Point 360 Challenge
There’s been some fantastic momentum building over these weeks, with many of the Point-based athletes now well underway in their challenges for The Leanne Fund

Across Point, individuals and teams are already out on the routes - running coastal miles, pushing through rugged terrain, swimming open water stretches, cycling, kayaking, and taking on full triathlon efforts. Every challenge is demanding in its own way, but all are being driven by the same goal: supporting people and families affected by Cystic Fibrosis.
If you would like to support the team and follow their journey, donations can be made here:
Stitches of Generosity
A huge thank you to Elizabeth Ross for her latest beautiful donation of hand-knitted pram toys and baby clothing for our Hello Little One baby box service.

These lovingly handmade gifts will be included in our baby boxes for families whose babies have recently been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, offering a small gesture of comfort and care during what can be an overwhelming and emotional time.
We are beyond grateful for Elizabeth's continued support, generosity and kindness. The time, skill and love that goes into every item she creates is so special, and we know these thoughtful gifts will mean so much to the families who receive them.
Thank you, Elizabeth, for helping us make a difference and for being such a valued supporter of The Leanne Fund

Summer Challenge - Smarties for Smiles
Looking for a fun (and sweet!) summer holiday activity for children, families, nurseries, or even workplaces? This is a simple way to make a real difference while school’s out.
Take an empty tube of Smarties and fill it with 20p coins- once it’s full, it adds up to around £11 raised for families affected by Cystic Fibrosis through The Leanne Fund.

It’s a brilliant little summer project to do at home, on rainy days, or as part of holiday clubs and groups - and every tube helps bring comfort and support to those who need it most.
We’d love to see your creations - share your colourful Smarties tubes with #SmartiesForSmiles
Once you’ve filled your tube, you can donate by:
• Dropping it off at our office
• Or transferring the funds directly to our bank
Every completed tube receives a special certificate of thanks from Sunny - a small celebration of a big-hearted effort!
Make this summer one of kindness, creativity, and community spirit. Every coin truly counts
Support for the nation
There’s often far more to cystic fibrosis than people realise . . .
Behind every diagnosis is a person navigating treatments, appointments, medications, hospital stays, emotions, uncertainty, and the everyday moments in between.

At The Leanne Fund, we work alongside every specialist CF NHS team across Scotland to make sure people living with cystic fibrosis - and the families who love and support them - know they never have to face it alone.
We’re here in the moments that matter most. From the shock of diagnosis, to difficult days in hospital, to celebrating milestones, offering a listening ear, providing practical support, or simply reminding someone that there is a whole community standing beside them
Supporting the CF community across Scotland is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helps us continue that work
Caring for your Whole Self

Living with Cystic Fibrosis- or caring for someone who does- can be physically, emotionally, and mentally demanding.
That’s why The Leanne Fund offers free complementary therapies, including massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, and reiki, to help ease stress, bring calm, and support your overall wellbeing.
These gentle therapies are available to people with CF, as well as their parents and carers -offering a little space to rest, recharge, and feel more like yourself again.
To find out more, speak with your CF Nurse Specialist for details and an application.
How your support helps

Every time you donate, fundraise, or even share what we do, you become part of something genuinely life-changing for Cystic Fibrosis.
At The Leanne Fund, we’re passionate about helping children and young people living with cystic fibrosis to access sport, movement, fitness equipment, and activities from as early an age as possible.
Building confidence around physical activity early on can play such an important role - not only for physical health and lung health, but also for confidence, independence, wellbeing, and simply having fun and feeling included
Whether it’s swimming lessons, dance classes, football, gymnastics, home fitness equipment, or other activities, we want families across Scotland to know this support is there for them.
