Registration and Race Day Information
Thank you for entering The Leanne Fund 5k or 10k. We are delighted you have decided to join us and hope this year’s event will have a record number of entries!
Race Registration - Saturday 1 June 2019
This will be held in Sgoil an Rubha on Saturday morning between 11 and 11.30am. You will collect your race number here for the 5k or 10k and you can also buy raffle tickets for the draw which takes place at the prizegiving. Registration will be followed by a short safety brief at which all participants must attend.
10k race starts at 12 noon
5k race starts at 12.05
You may leave clothing, etc at the school (which is also the finish) or in the Leanne Fund trailer but please remember to collect it before you leave.
This is the last chance for toilet stop for 5k runners but there is a toilet available at Buth an Rubha for those on the 10k route if required.
10k Route - leaving from Sgoil and Rubha, left onto main road, follow road to Buth an Rubha, left and then branching right at the fork, around Knock and down brae to main road. Turn right into Paraffin Road and follow road to junction for Eagleton. Turn left and continue down steep hill, turning left and continue to finish at Sgoil an Rubha.
5k Route - leaving from Bayble Church car park, left onto main road, left again onto Paraffin Road (before football pitch) follow road to junction for Eagleton and then left again and left before big hill and follow road to return to finish back at Sgoil an Rubha.
When you reach the finish line please obey instructions from Marshals. Your number must be correctly recorded by the timekeepers and you will then receive your medal.
There are 2 separate clocks – one for each race. It is vital that the timekeepers are able to see your number correctly otherwise your time may not be recorded.
Soup/rolls/tea/coffee are available in the school dining area (included in entry). Don’t forget to collect your belongings before you leave the event.
The Point 5k/10k is not purely a race. It’s a personal challenge. You should feel free to take enough time to enjoy the beauty of the Eye Peninsula. However, there is a clock at the finish and times will be published in the press and on our website, though these may differ slightly from your personal (possibly more accurate) timing.
A prize-giving ceremony will be held in the school at approx. 1pm when all competitors have completed the course.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE 😊
