Chris ran the Stornoway Half Marathon in May this year to raise money for the Fund. Chris is pictured above after the run, sporting his Leanne Fund t-shirt with the logo of all his sponsors also printed on the back. Chris finished the run in a very respectable 01:39:09.
'I met Willie Mitchell onsite at The Nicolson Institute where I currently work. During one of our conversations (whilst working very hard !!!) training was mentioned, and it was then that The Leanne Fund became part of the conversation. After listening to Willie, I realised that this was a great charity and that it was providing such a brilliant service to Cystic Fibrosis sufferers on the islands. When he asked me would I be interested in running the Half Marathon in Stornoway to raise funds for the charity, I had no hesitation in saying 'yes'. It was great to help out such a worthwhile charity which is held in such high regard within the close community and on the islands. As I will be working on the island for the next 6-8 months, hopefully I will get another opportunity to help raise funds again for this great charity.'
'I would like to thank all the companies who kindly donated towards my fundraising - M Corry Construction, Muldoon Bros Construction, Intec, JBE, Quinn Bros, A Boyle Construction and Advanced Concrete. Thanks to FMP for their help and support. Thanks to all those back home who kindly donated, especially my own family and my fiancee Aishling's family. And a special thanks to my fiancee Aishling, who helped me out and trained with me on my weekends home.'

Through sponsorship (as listed above) of the event, Chris raised a phenomenal £1450.00 for The Leanne Fund. Chris is pictured above presenting the cheque to Willie at the site of the new Nicolson Institute.
Well done Chris and thank you for your support!
