The children and leaders of the Good News Club successfully completed their Prayer Walk to raise £1435 for the work of The Leanne Fund. Well done!
Some of the children who took part in the walk are pictured below making the presentation.

SPONSORED PRAYER WALK
FRIDAY 28th MAY 2010
FOR ‘THE LEANNE FUND’
Good News Club are supporting ‘The Leanne Fund’ in memory of our dear leader Leanne who gave up her Friday nights to come along and help with the Club. The Club is held each week at the APC church on Keith Street, the Club has about 60 children attending from Primary 1 to Primary 7. Leanne played an important part of our group, she just had this gift of being able to draw out the best from the Children and they responded to her in a way that always amazed the rest of us.
The children never knew that Leanne had a serious illness, mainly because she gave 100% to whatever was asked off her - from playing our version of American football to making crafts to comforting the youngest child who found the Club at times overwhelming.
Leanne was an inspiration to us all, and that is why the Club feel it is important to support ‘The Leanne Fund’ by doing this walk and hopefully by doing something each year.
This year’s walk will take us from Keith Street, up Church Street and along Matheson Road, then walk along Sandwick Road, up Smith Avenue, then down Goathill Road till we come to Church Street and back to the Church base. This walk will be done in silence and as you can imagine this in itself is a big challenge for the children!
Leanne had many strengths, but the main one, we as Club Leaders will remember Leanne for is that she loved Jesus, her Saviour. Leanne’s desire and each Leader’s desire is that each child coming to Club would come to know and love that Saviour too.
