Congratulations to Craig on completing the Etape cycle and for doing so in such an amazing time. All that training and effort certainly paid off!
Craig raised a phenomenal £1200 and this amount was very generously matched by his employers, Lifescan Scotland to give an incredible total of £2400 for The Leanne Fund.
Craig is pictured below relaxing with his family after the race
Completed the eTape today. Weather held out though a little windy. Got round in 5 hours 12ish and placed at 2859th out of 5252 so well pleased. A little cramp but heho :-) You can hopefully see my cycle here...http://connect.garmin.com/activity/85831053
Have posted up a few photos that Lesley and her sister took.

Collected my timing chip today along with my race number (number 4223). An early rise on the cards on Sunday as the start time is 7.25. Can't wait for it now :-)
Thank you all for your donations. Training is going well. Hoping for good weather on the day :-)

Craig Blaikie, pictured above, will participate in the 2011 Etape Caledonia to raise money for The Leanne Fund. Craig’s wife Lesley is the Senior Cystic Fibrosis Nurse for the Highlands and Western Isles and so The Leanne Fund is a charity close to her heart.
The Etape Caledonia is an 81 mile cycle challenge taking place on traffic-free roads in the stunning scenery of Highland Perthshire.
The event on 15th May 2011 is open to individuals between the ages of 18 and 80 and to ensure that the roads are reopened to the schedule agreed with the authorities, participants need to maintain an average speed of 13-14mph around the course. Craig is already in training, having recently cycled from Edinburgh to Inverness.
For further details of the challenge visit: www.etapecaledonia.co.uk
Please show Craig your support by sponsoring him at http://www.justgiving.com/Craig-Blaikie
Thank you for supporting The Leanne Fund. Your contribution is making a difference in the lives of young people with Cystic Fibrosis.
